What we collect, and what we keep.

Gradaroo asks for a resume in two places. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to it — including the parts people usually have to dig for.

Last updated August 2026

The short version

If you convert a resume while signed in, we keep it and the text we extract from it. We use that to run the feature you asked for, and to test and improve how well Gradaroo reads resumes. We are not in the business of selling it, and we don't publish it.

If you are not signed in, nothing is kept. Your file is converted and discarded. We only store resumes against an account, because an upload with no account behind it is one we could never confirm was yours — and so could never delete when you asked.

Where resumes are used

Resume Converter

You upload a PDF or Word file. We extract the text, an AI model restructures it into the Australian format, and you get an editable Word document back.

Gradaroo Search

GradIQ is optional. If you use it, your resume is read to work out which job areas suit you, and those matched areas drive your job results. Here the file itself never leaves your browser — the text is pulled out on your device and only that text is sent to us.

So the two differ, and it is worth being precise about how: the Resume Converter receives your actual file, while Gradaroo Search only ever receives text your browser has already extracted.

What we store

Why we store it

We never add information that isn't in your resume. Every converted resume is checked against your original text, and anything the AI produced that your file doesn't support — an employer, a date, a job title, a metric — is removed before you receive the document.

Who can see it

How long we keep it

We keep resume data while your account is active, and while it remains useful for testing and improving the system. If you delete something in the app — a Career Support attachment, for example — it is removed from the live service.

Deleting your data

Go to Account Settings. Under Your resume data you can see everything we have stored for you and delete it yourself, immediately. That removes the stored files as well as the records of them and the job-area matches read from them — not just the entry you can see on screen.

It will not affect documents you have already downloaded, and you can keep using Gradaroo afterwards. To delete your whole account, email contact@gradaroo.com from your account address.

Choosing what to upload

A resume is personal. If there is something on yours you would rather we did not hold — a home address, a date of birth, an ID number — remove it before uploading. Gradaroo strips date of birth, age, marital status and similar details from the resume it produces anyway, because they don't belong on an Australian resume.

Needs legal review

This page describes how the system actually behaves. It is not a complete legal privacy policy: it does not state a lawful basis for processing, guarantee statutory access or correction rights, specify a fixed retention period, or list where data is stored geographically. Those need confirming with someone qualified before they are published as commitments — particularly because resumes can contain sensitive personal information.
